Practical Tips
IEBS 2026 – Conference Practical Tips
With the XVII IEBS getting closer, we would like to provide some practical information.
17th May
17h30m – 19h30m – Welcoming drink at IST Garden
Conference Venue, Floor -2, at Centro de Congressos IST:
The best/fastest way to get around the city is the Metro, which also connects to the Airport (red line). It is possible to use your debit card directly for the toll; if not, machines are available to buy a paper card, and you can reuse it while you are around Lisbon. You will find more info on the website.
Though Lisbon is a safe city, be aware of pickpockets when you are sightseeing and/or using the Metro. A practical tip is to use your wallet, backpack, etc., in front of you.
For the conference, Wi-Fi access will be available; you will find how to access it during registration and/or near the room and the coffee break area.
A few reminders about the different presentations:
Keynotes (KN) will have 30 minutes (25 min of presentation + 5 min for discussion)
Oral Communications (OC): will have 15 minutes (12 min of presentation + 3 min for discussion)
Before each session, we kindly ask you to find a member of the organising committee to upload your presentation slides to the computer in the room.
Posters (P): Posters will be displayed on poster boards in a designated area of the coffee break area and should be approximately 90 cm (W) × 120 cm (H). The organizers will provide tools for mounting the posters.
Prepare up to 4 slides for the Flash Poster Presentations (FPP). These presentations are limited to 3 minutes. Discussion with the authors is foreseen only in front of posters, during the breaks, and not during the flash presentation period.
Coffee breaks will be held in the hall, adjoining the conference room.
Participants will organize their own lunch.
18th May
On Monday (18th May), we will have access to the Terrace of IST South Tower, which has a beautiful view (360°) over Lisbon. This is scheduled for the end of the day (around 17h30m).
19th May
For those participating in the social events (19th May), a programme is organised. We suggest you bring/use comfortable clothing and shoes, use a hat, and sunscreen to protect your skin.
